Planning a trip? Check out Tennessee State Parks.
The 1944 construction of the Kentucky Dam impounded the Tennessee River and formed the 160,000-acre Kentucky Lake. This park on the lake’s western shore is named after a 19th Century river landing essential for the movement of goods through the region. The lake is ideal for boating, fishing, and water sports, while birders, hikers, golfers and lodge guests recreate on land along the water’s edge.
