Planning a trip? Check out Tennessee State Parks.
The Civilian Conservation Corps developed thousands of acres of park in the Pickett State Forest near Big South Fork National River from 1933 to 1942. The former park office now houses a museum with exhibits that detail the CCC’s history in the area. Hikers traverse varied trails extending over 58 miles, including the popular Hazard Cave Trail.
