This Class II Natural Area south of Nashville is notable for high ridges at elevations over 1,200 feet. Ranger-led programs, interpretive exhibits in the visitor center, and the Barbara J. Mapp Aviary Education Center instruct on the area’s natural history and wildlife. Migrating and wintering birds can be spotted from the hiking trails and observation decks, including waterfowl, owls, and turkeys.
