Planning a trip? Check out the Montgomery Bell State Park website.
Industrialist Montgomery Bell built Tennessee’s iron industry in the 19th Century. Remnants of Dickson County’s early manufacturing sites, including Laurel Furnace, remain here on the state’s Western Highland Rim. Named in honor of the ironmaster, the forest, creeks, fields, and three lakes within the park now draw visitors seeking a peaceful getaway to fish, paddle, swim, hike, bike or golf.
