This National Historic Landmark and State Park preserves at least 17 prehistoric earthen mounds dating back to the Middle Woodland Period. The complex is the largest in the Southeast, which includes the second tallest mound in the United States, Sauls Mound at 72 feet tall. Exhibits in the mound-shaped museum explore the area’s rich history.
