In March 1836, delegates declared Texas' sovereignty here with the signing of the Texas Declaration of Independence. They also drafted a constitution and formed the government of the Texas Republic. Visitors can experience Independence Hall, the Washington Townsite, Barrington Farm, and the Star of the Republic Museum.
