Built between 1803 and 1811 on land deeded to the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) as a burial ground, this is one of the largest active historic Quaker meetinghouses in the world. Designed as a reflection of the Quaker testimonies of simplicity, equality, and peace, the meeting house is an active place of worship, a National Historic Landmark, and a museum.
