Over 20 million years ago these spectacular volcanic rock formations were located almost 200 miles south of their present location. The rocks are continually being pushed northward along the San Andreas Fault by tectonic forces, moving more than a half inch each year. This geologic wonderland is home to over 30 miles of hiking trails, two talus caves and the massive California Condor.
