Construction of the State House in the country’s smallest capital city concluded in 1859. Declared a National Historic Landmark, this Greek Revival structure preserves many of the original House and Senate Chamber furnishings and is topped by a copper, gold-leafed dome. Nestled among wooded hills just north of the Winooski River, the legislative and executive branches of government meet here for work.
