Located on the historic Voyageurs' fur trade era canoe route on the border with Canada, this hotel first opened in 1913 and was renovated in 1987. The grounds served as a place of rest for Indigenous peoples, traders, lumberjacks, and fishermen and continues to be a favorite destination for Northwoods vacationers as the only lodging within the park.
