Nearly 62,000 acres of remote wilderness in the Pacific Northwest are accessible only by float plane, passenger ferry, or by foot through the Cascade Range. The third deepest lake in the country is over 50 miles long but averages less than two miles wide. Boaters, fishers, hikers, and campers trek to Lake Chelan and the Stehekin Valley.
