Viewed from an overlook at the end of a short trail and visited by guided hiking tours, Betatakin is one of three beautifully preserved cliff dwellings at this remote site.  Sustained by hunting and streambed farming, the area’s Ancestral Puebloan residents thrived before moving on by around 1300 AD, but their architecture, rock art, artifacts and descendants continue to tell their compelling stories.
