Built in 1919 near Deadwood, this 31-foot stone memorial honors the friendship of Seth Bullock and President Theodore Roosevelt. Bullock was Deadwood’s first sheriff, and he helped link frontier history with the conservation movement. Added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, it is a mountaintop monument to loyalty.
