Over 1,200 years ago, the Caddo people built a village and ceremonial center here. Three earthen mounds remain, still considered sacred to the Caddo. The site is also home to a section of the Camino Real de los Tejas National Historic Trail. Exhibits and programs teach visitors about Caddo culture and life in the Piney Woods.
