Following a victory at Kings Mountain, Patriot forces led by Brigadier General Daniel Morgan defeated British forces on this pasture land on January 17, 1781. Crucial to the Southern Campaign of the American Revolution, this defeat also contributed to General Cornwallis’ surrender nine months later. A museum, battlefield trail, and auto loop road commemorate this victory in South Carolina.
