This rocky plateau attracted generations of recreation and nature buffs before becoming part of today’s park in 1974. Visitors play in the large field on top and walk through verdant forests past ancient rock formations on the Ledges Trail. Many hikers pause at the Ledges
Overlook to photograph the views and colorful sunsets.
