Completed in 1959 on the former site of beach-and-road races, this 2.5-mile tri-oval superspeedway was purpose- built so cars could exceed 200 mph. It uses 31-degree high-banked turns and an 18-degree frontstretch engineered for high-speed. It hosts events such as Speedweeks, the Daytona 500, and the Coke Zero Sugar 400, turning the venue into a buzzing temporary city.
