This 90-foot totem rises from a turtle base near Foyil, Oklahoma. Built by Ed Galloway, it packs six tons of steel and 28 tons of cement into the tower. About 200 bas-relief portraits and animals wrap the shaft. Next door, an eleven-sided 1944 Fiddle House is ringed by 25 smaller totems. This Route 66 landmark entered the National Register in 1999 and is Oklahoma’s oldest folk-art exhibit.
