Opened in 1969 as Houston Intercontinental, it was later renamed for George H. W. Bush. Its code “IAH” preserves the original title – short for “Intercontinental Airport of Houston.” Its five terminals are stitched together by the elevated Skyway train and the underground Subway. This is also one of the nation’s major air-cargo complexes.
