This park is split into East and West blocks of protected prairies and badlands along Saskatchewan’s Montana border. It hosts Canada’s only black-tailed prairie dog colonies and Plains bison which returned after a 120-year absence. Canada’s first recorded dinosaur fossil was discovered in this Dark Sky Preserve, as well as 12,000 tipi rings and the 1876 refuge of Sitting Bull and his followers.
