Dedicated to the workers of the early logging industry in Michigan, this 14-foot bronze statue was erected in 1931 overlooking the beautiful AuSable River. Representing various stages of the historic lumbering operation: a timber cruiser holds his compass, a sawyer slings his saw over his shoulder, and a river rat rests his peavey on the ground.
