This open-air exhibit traces the foundations of the former “Morris Mansion,” Philadelphia’s first executive residence. Both George Washington and John Adams lived here. Uncovered during the Independence Mall construction, its mapped-out rooms, living quarters, and kitchens are a glimpse into when this city was the nation’s early capital.
