This Pueblo Deco picture palace along Albuquerque’s Route 66 corridor opened in 1927. It notably debuted with a $18,000 Wurlitzer organ. Its kiva-like auditorium layers Southwestern motifs—buffalo-skull garlands, war-drum chandeliers, and Carl Von Hassler murals inspired by the Seven Cities of Cíbola. Nearly razed in 1968, it was saved by a public vote and is now on the National Register.
