Seventeen of Canada’s 20 highest mountains rise within this Yukon wilderness, including 19,551-foot Mount Logan, the nation’s highest peak. Mountains and icefields cover roughly 82 percent of the land, with ice reaching 3,280 feet deep. Traditional Southern Tutchone territory, it supports Dall sheep, grizzlies, and mountain goats in one of North America’s most severe continental climates.
