Planning a trip? Check out the Kreische Brewery at the Texas Historical Commission.

In 1849, stonemason Heinrich Kreische bought land and built a three-story home for his family. In the 1860s, Kreische started one of Texas' first commercial breweries using nearby spring water. Visitors can explore the ruins and imagine locals enjoying a pint. The Kreische Brewery and home are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
