This small town is a gateway community to Shenandoah National Park. Though officially discovered in 1878, the creation of Luray’s famous caverns began over 400 million years ago and features massive natural rock formations like Titania’s Veil and Saracen’s Tent. A memorial to honor the wife of an early owner of the caverns includes a 117-foot-tall Singing Tower boasting a 47-bell carillon.
