Two successive summers saw fierce battle, courage, and sacrifice in the Virginia countryside. The First Battle of Bull Run in July 1861 and the Second Battle of Bull Run in August 1862 are memorialized in reenactments, artifacts, and museum exhibits. Stone House, used as a hospital, and the museum at Brawner’s Farm are open to visitors.
