Expecting light resistance, loyalist soldiers, mostly Scottish Highlanders armed with broadswords, charged across Moores Creek Bridge in early 1776. Many were cut down when hundreds of Patriots opened fire. Exhibits, walking tours and living history events tell the story of one of the first American Revolutionary War victories.
