This capital city home to the Grand Ole Opry and the Country Music Hall of Fame is synonymous with country music. Not surprisingly, the genre is heard everywhere downtown, where “buskers” – street musicians – perform for tips. Music also wafts into the streets from the ubiquitous honky tonks in a city that takes pride in its historic sites and fiery hot chicken, a local specialty.
