This estate was finished at the dawn of the 20th century. Architect Horace Trumbauer modeled it after Château d’Asnières, reflecting a respect for European grandeur and cutting-edge innovation. It has one of America’s earliest electrical systems in a private residence, with fully electric kitchens and the first residential elevator.
