The Buckeye State Capitol, along with the Senate Building and Atrium, form the Ohio Statehouse on 10-acres of ground east of the Scioto River. Construction of the limestone Greek Revival building concluded in 1861 as the Civil War began and the country descended into uncertainty. This National Historic Landmark is the workplace of the executive and legislative branches.
