Reachable only by ferry, private boat or plane, this island site commemorates the combatants from both sides who took part in the Battle of Lake Erie, an American victory, during the War of 1812. A memorial honoring the peace between the U.S., Britain and Canada rises 352 feet above the lake. Its observation deck offers panoramic views.
