Freighters carrying ore from Minnesota’s Iron Range faced treacherous conditions on Lake Superior. When a 1905 November storm wrecked 29 ships, demand rose for a light to be built atop a 130-foot-high cliff in Two Harbors. The National Historic Landmark is restored to its 1920s appearance with original buildings accessible to tours.
