The War of 1812 was a three year war fought over maritime rights with the British on US soil. Today, the Historic Trail follows land and water routes in the Chesapeake Bay significant to the war. The trail tells not only the story of the National Anthem, but of all the people who were a part of the fabric of our nation during its inception.
