Set at the meeting of five rivers, this Oregon Coast valley was occupied by the Tillamook people for 12,000 years. These fertile lowlands later built a reputation for dairying and cheesemaking. Local farmers formed a cooperative in 1909, creating what is now a nationally recognized brand. Few Oregon towns are so closely tied to the resources that built them—milk, timber, rivers, and the Pacific.
