America’s most decorated battleship from World War II’s Pacific Theater is moored along the Cape Fear Coast in Wilmington. Awarded 15 battle stars for expert conduct during every crucial naval offensive in the Theater. She protected aircraft carriers, sunk enemy ships and aircraft, and bombarded shorelines. Visitors tour nine levels of the restored ship, including exhibits with original artifacts.
