It has grown from a lumber settlement into one of Canada’s largest urban centers, as well as one of North America’s most linguistically diverse cities. Its popular flagship park, Stanley Park, is ranked among the best urban parks in the world. The city is also 
a top film production site, often called “Hollywood North.”
