This memorial on the National Mall is one of D.C.’s more emotional sites. Visitors often are seen making name rubbings of comrades, friends, and loved ones at the Memorial Wall, which is inscribed with the names of the more than 58,000 service members who gave their lives during the Vietnam War. The bronze Women’s Memorial sculpture honors the women who served, most as nurses.
