Babcock State Park’s Glade Creek Grist Mill, a fully operational replica located in the scenic New River Gorge, is the centerpiece in one of West Virginia’s truly iconic scenes. The only state located entirely within the Appalachian Mountains, rugged and largely rural West Virginia boasts the highest mean elevation of any state east of the Mississippi River.
