Flowing 76 miles from the Yukon to Disenchantment Bay, this ice giant is North America’s largest tidewater glacier. Its calving face rises about 350 feet above the water and spans roughly six miles. Unlike most Alaskan glaciers, it has been advancing for over a century. It was named for the first president of the National Geographic Society.
