The name of this lockup is well known to western movie and tv buffs, but the prison is very real and housed more than 3,000 inmates, including 29 women. Visitors peruse museum exhibits, take the self-guided prison tour and admire the views from the guard tower and view deck. Almost 130 incarcerees are buried in the prison cemetery.
