The formation of 114 beach ridges along the Chukchi Sea shoreline acts as a historic timeline detailing 9,000 years of human life. The Inupiat maintain subsistence camps in the area, continuing a tradition over 200 generations long. Hikers, campers, and kayakers explore a region of vast wetlands, limestone hills, and Oomingmak (muskoxen).
