“Stampeders” toting supplies and mining gear had to ascend Chilkoot Pass on their way to Canadian goldfields during the late-1800s rush. Few dreams of riches panned out. The Chilkoot Trail today is a recreational pathway in a park that also offers historic structures, exhibits and programs recalling an epic tale of boom and bust.
