Built in 1892 as a summer home for Prussian-born beer brewer, Robert Portner and his wife, Anna, the home was acquired by the City in 2019. While it is currently undergoing work to stabilize and renovate the structure, the 3.6 acres that surround the home are open daily from dawn to dusk for visitors to enjoy. In 2022, the building was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
