This Washington, D.C. landmark is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Architect Daniel Burnham completed the Beaux-Arts design of the railroad terminal, which served 42,000 passengers per day at its peak in the 1940s. Completed in 1908 and restored over time, today it’s a mixed-use intermodal transportation hub and multi-level commercial complex serving the nation’s capital.
