Nestled into the cliffside of an ancient limestone cliff, Montezuma Castle stands overlooking the Verde Valley. Southern Sinagua farmers built this five-story, 20 room dwelling between 1100 and 1300 CE. The dwelling would serve the Sinagua people for hundreds of years before they migrated away by 1400 CE - leaving the Verde Valley behind.
