Of the 414 Victory Ships built in Kaiser Shipyards during World War II, only one remains. This former ammunition ship served in the South Pacific and is a testament to the men and women who served on the home front during the conflict. Its name honors the Iowa town that bore the country’s highest per capita casualty rate during the war.
