Commissioned in 1936, Cutter 37, the USCGC Taney, was docked in Honolulu and fought off Japanese aircraft during the December 7, 1941, Pearl Harbor attack. Today, after decades of wartime and peacetime service, the Coast Guard ship spends her retirement docked in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, where visitors board for tours, explore exhibits and peruse a vast artifact collection.
