Planning a trip? Check out the McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park website.
Formed by volcanic activity over a million years ago, underground springs in this park feed the Burney Falls. Though falling only 129 feet, they were nicknamed the “8th Wonder of the World” by the 26th President. Park visitors fish at the base and in nearby Lake Britton or explore five miles of hiking trails, including a section of the Pacific Crest.
