Constructed in the 1850’s, these vaulted, ornately decorated corridors in the Senate Wing are composed of five hallways, known as the main, west, inner, north and patent corridors. They honor Constantino Brumidi, the Italian artist who designed and painted the murals on the walls and ceilings and directed its execution by artists of many nationalities.
